When opening the openLCA download in macOS, there might be an error box displayed informing that the developer cannot be verified. Indeed, this means that GreenDelta, the developers of openLCA, is an unverified developer in macOS. However, it doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong or hostile with the app, but always make sure you are downloading the app from our website: /download-form/.

These are the steps you can follow to override your security settings as described by Apple’s support page:

      1. Find the app you want to open in the Finder on your Mac. Take care not to use Launchpad to do this, as it doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
      2. Control-click the app icon and choose Open from the shortcut menu.
      3. Click Open. The app is saved as an exception to your security settings. You can open it by double-clicking it in the future, similar to any registered app.
