EN15804 is the European norm for Environmental Product Declarations, EPDs, and provides core rules for the Product Category Rules, PCRs, especially for the construction sector.
EN15804 supports life cycle modelling and calculation, and yet some of the indicators required by EN15804 cannot be calculated in a normal life cycle calculation, using “normal” LCA background databases. These indicators are for example final waste, exported energy, primary energy used as feedstock, and so forth.
To address this gap, we have created an add-on for the ecoinvent database that provides support for the calculation of the EN15804-specific indicators, and for the more common LCA-specific indicators that are also required by EN15804 as well. We call it the EN15804 add-on for ecoinvent by GreenDelta.
This add-on addresses both the EN15804 A1 and the more recent EN15804 A2 version of the norm. To be used, it requires an ecoinvent version 3.8 or later from openLCA Nexus.
