Just a few months after the first release, version 2 of the free BAFU:2025 database is already available on Nexus. Below we’ve provided a summary of the improvements compared to version 1.
Adaptation
This new version encounters several adaptations on our side:
- Added default providers for exchanges
- Added data quality scores for exchanges
- Added corresponding locations to flows whose names include location information
- Removed duplicated location information from process names
- Corrected unit conversion errors for water flows
- Included processes information from the original ecoSpold files to the general comments of the processes
- Removed unused flows from the database
- Harmonized the mapping of identical ecoSpold flows by mapping them to a single standardized flow in openLCA
- Updated all data quality systems and currencies to the latest uncertainty values and exchange rates available in openLCA
Database content
The new release includes four main components:
- LCIA results: Includes results for the IPCC 2021, Ecological Scarcity 2021, and EF 3.1 methods.
- Documentation: LCI reports and documentation.
- EcoSpold1 files: The original LCI dataset files.
- openLCA database: The openLCA.zolca version of the database for direct use in openLCA.
