EPDs are becoming a cornerstone of transparent sustainability reporting. They aim to provide verified, comparable information about the environmental impact of products.
But developing an EPD can seem complex, especially when it comes to aligning with standards like EN 15804+A2 and handling datasets in tools like openLCA. To make this process easier, GreenDelta is offering a two-day online training course on 6–7 November (3 hours per day). The course walks participants step by step through creating EPDs using openLCA with the EN 15804 add-on for Ecoinvent.
What the training covers
Through hands-on case studies and examples, the training will give participants an understanding of the workflow behind EPD development. You’ll learn how to:
- Build an LCA model in line with EN 15804+A2 standard
- Interpret and apply product category rules (PCRs) and program operator requirements
- Work with the EN 15804+A2 add-on database in openLCA
- Handle biogenic carbon mass balance correctly
- Calculate primary energy use indicators
- Import EPDs from different sources and integrate them into your own LCA results
- Prepare both the background report and the EPD report
By the end of the course, participants will have not only a working knowledge of the technical steps but also a clear picture of how EPDs fit into broader sustainability strategies.
Who should attend
Whether you work in industry, consulting, or research, the training provides a practical foundation for producing credible and standard-compliant EPDs. Prior knowledge to openLCA software is recommended.
